Lexcom Home Vs 250 Connectors

Spørgsmål

Hi,

(non native speaker, so I'll post in English)

I have a LK IHC Net installed. Part is done with Home connectors and part with 250 connectors. The electrician reassured me that the 250s were the same as the Home connectors. And indeed they look identical except for the color coding (change to standards from early Home connectors) and the engraving on the metal enclosure (250 iso Home). Install instructions were identical.

Both were bought in Belgium via local distributor. So should I understand this as just an export branding name change? Or is there a difference between both?

Thanks for your feedback.

Christoph

They are more or less identical, but There is a little difference. The "net" conectors are testet to perform with cableTV up to 900Mhz.

But overall they will all do the trick.

Here are the specs. (in danish, but i guess you get it)

For data only:

Lexcom 250

http://www1.lk.dk/servlet/context?n1=16&n2=2416&n3=2705&n4=2471&n5=2964

Lexcom 500

http://www1.lk.dk/servlet/context?n1=16&n2=2416&n3=2706&n4=2471&n5=2964

For both data and TV

IHC Net Basic

IHC Net:

For your info I use the 500 conectors and the Net-Basic cable, and the combination is testet with a Fluke DSP4300 to comply with Cat 6 and perform 1Gbs, 10Gbs and 900Mhz.

Thx.

So for the Home and 250 connectors, there's just a difference in being tested for the 900Mhz or not.

I presume this is also valid for the 500 as the specs are almost identical to 250 and Home. Or is it more like this: all connectors are tested in the factory, the ones that have best test results are marked 500, the others 250 and the last batch 125. Anyone some inside info?

As I'm completing the last part of the installation where the wall sockets have already Home or 250 mounted on the Net cable, is there any added value to apply 500 connectors to the patch panel side? Would you leave the 250 in the wall sockets and install Home on at the patch panel side, or is it better to pair them (250 with 250 on same cable, meaning I'll have to remount connectors)?

Your insights are very much appreciated!

Rgds,

Christoph

I dont know for sure, but I dont think all the conectors are tested individually at the factury. Just that the IHC Net ones will comply with the spec. regarding CATV @ 900Mhz. The others might do so as well, but you wount have a warranty that they will.

Is it just a few (<10) drops i dont care about mixing them, but is it more i wont play arround. Just to save a few bucks. But if you test each individual drop with a certified cable tester, then it actually dont matter mixing conectors. But it is determined you take a risk.
